El Vademécum Nacional de Medicamentos (VNM) , desarrollado en conjunto por ANMAT y PAMI , es una fuente oficial de actualización permanente, en la que se publican todos los medicamentos comercializados en la República Argentina .
Esta herramienta ofrece a toda la comunidad, prescriptores, dispensadores, pacientes y consumidores la posibilidad de corroborar que, sobre el medicamento prescripto y/o dispensado, no pesan restricciones de uso y/o comercialización, y si se trata de un producto alcanzado por el Sistema Nacional de Trazabilidad de Medicamentos .
Podrá inclusive consultarse por nombre comercial , nombre genérico , principios activos , y precio sugerido de cada medicamento por disposición de la Secretaria de Comercio .
Entre los beneficios de esta disposición , se destaca la incorporación de imágenes de los productos, etiqueta de trazabilidad , lo cual permitirá una rápida verificación visual como también consultar la disponibilidad o no de un producto en el mercado, ya sea por discontinuidad o falta momentánea del mismo-
En la actualidad el VNM se encuentra en proceso de carga y validación, por lo tanto, podría no contener la totalidad de las especialidades medicinales autorizadas por ANMAT.
En caso de que al realizarse una determinada consulta sobre un producto no se visualice resultado alguno, se sugiere volver a efectuar la misma en el vínculo del Listado Oficial de Medicamentos Actualmente Comercializados (LOMAC), que se encuentra en el sitio web:www.anmat.gov.ar .
